My experience

Spoak Decor

My role

The story

Product Design Lead

Spoak is an online interior design subscription platform with tools for all levels to create mood boards, room designs, floor plans, and manage projects. To solve for a multitude of personas (design pros, and total newbies), we had to think big and innovate.

I joined Spoak as the founding designer. I directed all things design, spearheaded research, and collaborated on product vision. My greatest accomplishment was leading end-to-end redesign of the entire the tooling suite, directing a branding refresh, and creating the company’s first ever design system.

At a face-paced startup, we prioritized quickly testing, shipping, learning, and iterating. My work successfully reduced trial cancellation and drastically improved users ability to successfully create designs.

Better Mortgage

My role

The course

Senior Product Designer

Better is a DTC mortgage lender that focuses on removing as much red tape (and confusion) out of the loan process as possible, and in turn pass savings onto customers.

I began on the customer platform and owned the design of tools to visualize and simplify the mortgage process to help users understand their financials. We successfully improved application time and contributed to the company’s tremendous growth.

Looking for a larger UX challenge, I moved to internal tooling and designed the software Better’s mortgage teams use to fund loans. I owned six tooling products, created game changing new tools, and led many user research studies.

Working with very complicated problems, my work improved staff workflows, created efficiencies, and helped them process loans (heavy information) drastically faster.

IDEO U

Foundations in Design Thinking

I completed the Certificate program for Foundations in Design Thinking, with a final thesis focused on user research, prototype, and pitch for an app to encourage children to read.

The program for Advanced certificate is in progress!

Product Designer

Fuzz (now Monstarlab) was a creative product agency that specialized in combining the physical with the digital.

My favorite project to this day was for Blink Fitness. We created an entry ecosystem with iOS, tablet, and kiosk apps for both customers and employees. We also created an improved space layout and kiosk design, all cumulating to reduce congestion and decrease time to check-in.

I also travelled to Munich to work with Sixt, where we worked with the team to define a new service model, and end-to-end customer journey. I led the redesign of their iOS app to increase engagement of WAU users by creating new interaction paradigms, a refreshed design system, a streamlined checkout flow, and adding new services.

Purpose

Senior Visual Designer

My first full-time role in New York City was at Purpose, a creative agency focusing on social impact. Here I was able to work on all types of visual design, such as creating and improving websites, ideating logos, branding, and merch for our non-profit clients.

My largest client at Purpose was redesigning the March of Dimes websites and complex information architecture.

My work.

About me.

I’m looking to take on my next big challenge. Ready to work together?
